Forever linked to the most famous date in English history - and the Battle of Hastings - the ruins of Britain's first Norman castle are also home to the 1066 Story where visitors will be transported forward through the centuries from October 14th 1066 all the way through to the Second World War. Set within a medieval siege tent, the 1066 Story uses projected images, lighting and dynamic sound effects to recreate that fateful battle which shaped the future of this country. There are even appearances by King Harold and William the Conqueror. The West Hill Cliff RailwayThe Victorian West Hill Cliff Railway from George Street, provides access to the Castle and Caves, is one of the steepest and one of the earliest in England. It's a great way to travel between the attractions.
